
RAJOURI, APRIL 27: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Rajouri today kick started the League of Classics Under 17 Boys Inter District UT Level Volleyball Tournament under the Youth Engagement Programme.
Additional District Development Commissioner Malikzada Shaeraz Ul Haq, the chief guest inaugurated the event, marking a vibrant beginning of a major sporting event in the district.
BSF Commandant/OPS Parthvee Singh; BSF Commandant Kamal Rawat; BSF Assistant Commandant Tej Pal Singh; DEPO Sardari Lal Datta and DYSS(retd) Gulzar Ahmed were the guests of honour.
A total of 18 districts from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are participating in the tournament.
On the occasion, a strong message against drug abuse was delivered through a Nasha Mukt pledge administered by the chief guest, encouraging youth to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
Adding a cultural vibrancy to the event, students presented a colorful cultural programme that was well appreciated by the audience.
In the opening match, Pulwama defeated Rajouri convincingly by 3-0. Abrar Farooq from Pulwama was declared the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. In the second match, Ganderbal registered a 3-0 victory over Ramban, with Tahir Latief from Gandarbal being adjudged as the Player of the Match.
