Joint Director Mission Poshan reviews functioning of Poshan Project Bhadarwah

Joint Director Mission Poshan Shavi Sharma today visited Poshan Project Bhadarwah to conduct a comprehensive review of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and various welfare initiatives.

 

The Joint Director presided over a Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND) programme at Anganwadi Centre Puneja-B. She reviewed the activities and interacted with beneficiaries regarding health and nutrition services. Emphasising maternal and child health, she highlighted the need for regular immunisation, balanced nutrition and growth monitoring. The programme saw active participation from health officials, Poshan functionaries and beneficiaries.

 

The Joint Director also inspected various Anganwadi Centres to assess the quality of services, record maintenance and nutritional support. She directed field functionaries to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements under government schemes and that records are updated regularly.

 

The Joint Director further reviewed the operations of the Poshan Tracker and evaluated the progress of different schemes, with special emphasis on the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). She directed staff to expedite Aadhaar seeding and ensure the timely registration of pregnant and lactating mothers.

 

Reviewing health indicators, the JD stressed the need to intensify efforts to combat anaemia. She emphasised promoting fortified rice distribution and increasing awareness regarding the nutritional benefits of local products, including millets.

 

The Joint Director additionally assessed infrastructure and logistics, including the distribution of pre-school education kits and medicine kits. She directed officials to strengthen the operational capacity of the centres to ensure the effective delivery of services.

 

Appreciating the efforts of field functionaries, the Joint Director called upon all stakeholders to work with commitment towards achieving the objectives of Mission Poshan and improving health outcomes for women and children across Bhadarwah.
