Anti-Polythene Drive conducted around GMC Baramulla

BARAMULLA, MAY 04: To ensure a polythene-free zone and strengthen regulatory measures around Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, a joint team of officers conducted an extensive anti-polythene drive in the surrounding areas today.

The team, headed by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla, Arshad Ahmad Khan, comprised the Principal GMC Baramulla, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Medical Superintendent (MS) Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, along with officials from the Civil Administration and Police.

During the drive, the team visited various establishments, with a special focus on medical shops operating in and around the GMC area. The inspection aimed to curb the use of banned polythene, ensure adherence to environmental norms, and maintain hygiene standards in the hospital vicinity.

The officers stressed strict compliance with government regulations and warned shopkeepers against the use of polythene bags. They also sensitized traders about the harmful environmental impact of polythene and urged them to adopt eco-friendly alternatives.

The team reiterated that such drives will continue in the future to ensure a clean, safe, and environmentally sustainable zone around GMC Baramulla.
