BANDIPORA, MAY 04: NCORD Cell of HKM Degree College Bandipora on Monday organised a one-day awareness programme on drug de-addiction under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to sensitise students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote preventive measures for a healthier society.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Principal of the college, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, and witnessed active participation of faculty members and students.
Resource person from the Health Department delivered a detailed lecture on the harmful effects of drug addiction on physical and mental health, social relationships and overall well-being. The importance of early intervention, awareness and adoption of a disciplined and healthy lifestyle to combat substance abuse was stressed.
The resource person also interacted with students and encouraged them to play an active role in building a drug-free society.
A pledge-taking ceremony was also held during the programme wherein faculty members and students collectively resolved to stay away from drugs and contribute towards creating a drug-free society.
