
UDHAMPUR, APRIL 16: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Udhampur on Thursday convened a meeting to discuss modalities for effective implementation of NALSA SPRUHA (Supporting Potential and Resilience of the Unseen, Held-back and Affected) Scheme-2025 The meeting, held in the District Court Complex, was chaired by Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA, Sumati Sharma.
A welfare scheme launched by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the scheme envisages providing comprehensive legal and social assistance to the families of incarcerated persons and crime victims. The scheme ensures these vulnerable groups are not marginalized by poverty or social exclusion, offering counseling, education, and livelihood support to help them rebuild their lives with dignity
During the meeting, Sumati Sharma stressed the importance of coordinated efforts to extend effective support to vulnerable and affected families.
She further emphasized that the programs under the scheme shall also be organised in Jails and Police Stations to sensitise convicts, under-trial prisoners, police personnel and other stakeholders regarding the availability of legal aid, the rights of dependents of prisoners and victims of crime and the institutional mechanisms established under the Scheme.
The meeting was attended by Babu Ram from Tehsil Social Welfare Office; Meena Thakur, Administrative Officer One Stop Centre; LADCs, Panel Lawyers and PLVs of DLSA, TLSCs Ramnagar, Majalta and Chenani.
