The Enforcement Directorate on Friday said it has attached the Srinagar home of separatist leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah, who was found involved in a money laundering probe related to a case of promoting terrorist activities in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said that the house worth Rs 21.80 lakh is located in Botshah Colony of Sanat Nagar under Barzulla police station area of Srinagar.
The NIA, probing an FIR registered in May 2017 against Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed, and others under various sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), also found Shah involved. During investigation it came to light that Shabbir Ahmad Shah was actively involved in activities to create unrest in Kashmir Valley through stone pelting, processions, protests, bandhs, strikes and other subversive activities.
Investigation has revealed that Shabir Shah used to take from terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and other terrorist organizations based in Pakistan to create unrest in Kashmir. This amount was sent to him through other means including hawala. Shah also used this amount fiercely for terrorism as well as other anti-national operations. The ED said in a statement that substantial evidence has been collected against Shabir Shah, who supported terrorist activities in the Kashmir Valley.
On the basis of these evidences, his house in Srinagar has been attached. The process of investigation is still on. As the investigation progresses, the anti-national elements promoting terrorism in Kashmir will be cracked down.
Let us tell you that many other agencies including NIA, SIA are working against the separatist leaders, traders who are supporting terrorist organizations to spread unrest in Kashmir. The roots of terrorism were being strengthened in Kashmir through Terror Funding, Narco Terrorism, but now the way these agencies have cracked down on anti-national elements, the back of terrorism is broken. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has also claimed that terrorism is now breathing its last in Kashmir. Very soon there will be an end to terrorism in Kashmir and the people there will be able to lead a peaceful life without fear.
