PAGD meeting on February 26, strategy will be decided on running nationwide public relations campaign

A meeting of the members of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) will be held on February 26. In this, along with discussing the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the interim report of the Delimitation Commission, PAGD will also appoint a delegation of its own to interact with intellectuals and leaders of all major political parties in different parts of the country.

PAGD President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has called this meeting at his residence in Srinagar. All prominent members of PAGD including PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami and Awami National Conference working president Muzaffar Shah will participate.

Relevant sources said that this meeting, to be held at the residence of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, is being given great importance in the local political circles. This meeting is being held after the interim report of the Delimitation Commission. All components of PAGD are against delimitation. In the proposed meeting, along with discussing the interim report of the Delimitation Commission and the current political situation in Jammu and Kashmir, PAGD will also decide its next strategy. It will be their endeavor that the issues of Jammu and Kashmir should be raised at the national level with the support of all political parties.
Apart from this, PAGD will also prepare a delegation of prominent leaders of its constituent parties in this meeting which will conduct a public relations campaign in different parts of the country on the issue of Article 370 and delimitation. This delegation will visit various states and interact with the local civil society, intellectuals and prominent political leaders to apprise them of their stand against the constitutional changes in Jammu and Kashmir. This team will try to form a consensus for the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
