Mayor kick starts development works in ward no.47

 

Continuing his drive to provide better development as well as civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Madam Sharda Kumari Councilor of ward no.47 today on 17/10/2020 conducted an extensive tour in the various localities of the ward met with the locals and listened to their issues pertaining to JMC and other departments which includes providing of better sanitation and cleanliness in the area in the ongoing Holy Navratas as well as on daily basis, repair /construction of damaged drains & lanes in the leftover localities of the ward, laying of new water pipes as well as plugging of their leakages, lifting of stray dogs/animals on routine basis, installation of LED street lights in the remaining areas and rectification of defunct ones on priority basis.

 

Mayor gave patience hearing to their demands & assured that all their genuine issues will be sorted out at an earliest. Later, mayor in presence of concerned councilor also kick started the construction work of Bathrooms (Tutian) at ancient Shiv Mandir situated at Mahasha Mohalla near Bahu Lochan Chowk on the demands of the residents of the locality as locals were facing great hardships due to non availability of this facility in the nearby site. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor appreciated the efforts of the councilor of the ward who is trying his best in providing best possible basic and development activities to the inhabitants of her ward within the funds allotted to irrespective of any caste & religion. Mayor was also apprised by the councilor that she has already got executed developments works at Qasim nagar Graveyard and sheikh Nagar graveyard and now at Shiv mandir Bahu Lochan Chowk within Rs. 25 lacs sanctioned in ward no.47. Sh Dalbir Singh Khalsa ward president, Sh Sunny Sangotra, Sh Surinder Kumar, Madam Sushma Devi, Madam Shushila Devi, Madam Garo Devi, Madam Babli Devi and other prominent inhabitants of the ward as well as concerned contractor were also remained present during the tour. Locals thanked the mayor for visiting their ward & taking keen interest in resolving their long pending issues.

Mayor appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC in all the development activities being undertaken by the department, adopt the habit of segregation of wet and dry waste, Plant more and more saplings in and around their surroundings, remove the illegal encroachments if done from the nallahas /public drains at their own level in order to make Jammu city neat, clean and green.
