Police arrest 3 gamblers, recovered stake money in south Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir police arrested three smugglers and recovered stake money in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, a police spokesman said on Monday.

He said on a tip-off, a police party from police station Devsar raided a gambling site at Zangalpora, Kulgam and arrested three gamblers. The gamblers were identified as Arif Amin Beigh resident of Khrewan Malpora, Mohammad Iqbal Mir and Yawar Ahmad Sheikh both residents of Zangalpora.

Police seized playing cards and stake money of  Rs 9300 from the gamblers.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 105/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Devsar and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
