Continuing his drive to provide better development & civic amenities to the people of Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu alongwith Sh Jai Deep Sharma Councilor of ward no.22, today on 29/09/2020 conducted a extensive tour in the various localities of Shastri Nagar area met with the locals & listened to the General issues regarding construction of leftover lanes / drains, deployment of more SKC’s against the retired ones, lifting of stray dogs /animals on routine basis, better maintenance of parks in their locality as well as other day to day matters regarding Jammu Municipal corporation & other departments. Mayor assured them that all their genuine issues will be resolved in a time bound manner.
Further, to fulfill the long pending demands of the locals, Mayor in presence of the concerned councilor kick started the overall face lifting of the park situated near Ram Darbar mandir (Opposite Temple GYM) Shastri Nagar, Jammu. Mayor told that an amount of Rs. 8.00 lakh has been sanctioned for this development work which includes installation of more iron grills on all sides of the park & its proper painting, renovation / construction of Boundary Wall to restrict the entry of anti social elements and stray animals in the park, fixation of tiles around the three Gates to give better look, repair of broken tiles fixed in the walking area for the people, installation of beautiful & durable Marble around the traditional & old piple tree situated in the park where large number of devotees come for puja of the piple tree, construction of a well furnished kanopee with sitting arrangements in the middle of the park & other allied works. Sh Ashok Kumar Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer, concerned Junior Engineer of Division IV JMC concerned contractor, field staff of Health Section, Sh V. K Sethi, Sh K.L Sharma, Sh. Vinod Abrol, Chowdhary Kewal, Sh Om Pal Sharma, S. Bhupinder Singh, Chowdhary Puran, Sh Abhi Nandan Sharma, Sh Vikas Sharma and other prominent inhabitants of the locality were also present there during the tour.
Mayor directed the concerned engineering wing to complete this development work within the stipulated time period by applying best quality & durable construction material & upto the entire satisfaction of the concerned councilor as well as locals of the area. He further told that JMC has already taken up the job for providing best development facilities to the people of Jammu in terms of installation of colorful / beautiful fountains in the various rotaries of the city, commissioning of open gyms with requisite number of equipments in every ward, restoration of traditional & old water bodies, development / renovation of Shamshan Ghats, Shishu Samadhian, Graveyards, Start of multistory parking at Panjthirti Jammu which was in pipeline and other such development activities.
Mayor appeal to the General Public to come forward & cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in all the development works being undertaken by JMC & other departments, avoid using single used plastics / polythene carry bags, do not throw filth, garbage etc in the public lanes/drains & nallahas, plant more and more saplings in and around their surroundings so that Jammu can be made neat, clean and green city.
