Mayor Reviews Cleanliness works of Canals

Today on 19.03.2020 Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Engineers of Irrigation & Flood Control Department concerned Contractor conducted the extensive tour of Akhnoor Road, Paloura etc and reviewed the ongoing disilting / cleaning work of Ranir Canal. Mayor directed the concerned for thorough cleanliness of all the Canals keeping in view the prevailing situation arising due to threat of Corona Virus in the whole World including J&K and asked them to assure that all the silt, mulba etc coming from Canals be immediately lifted from the roadside of the Canals so that general public do not face hardships while passing from the areas as the Jammu Municipal Corporation has already started sanitation drives, thermal fogging by deploying its men & machinery in all the wards of the JMC to cover the spread of this deadly disease in the city.

Later Mayor alongwith sh. Rajinder Singh Chib Distt. President Rural BJP, Smt. Tripta Devi, Hon’ble Councillor Ward No: 66, Sh. Tara Chand Mandal Vice President BJP, Sh. Sanjeev Mahajan AEE UEED and concerned Contractor toured in the areas near EWS Colony at Sector 1 and 2 adjoining Janipur Police Station and kick started the construction work of deep drains / nallahas which will be done by UEED at the estimate cost of Rs. 25.00 Lacs. This was the long pending demands of the residents of ward no: 66 as dirty water often overflows and enters in to the houses of people living there during Rainy Season.

Mayor directed the Engineering Wing and contractor to execute the work upto the satisfaction of Councillor and residents of the locality with quality material.

Mayor also visited the areas of ward No: 07 alongwith Smt. Ritu Choudhary concern Councillor and started the construction work of community Hall adjoining Jangam Mandir near Vivekanand Chowk near Dennis Gate Jammu. This construction work is executed at the estimate cost of Rs. 10.50 lakhs only by the Engineer Wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation Sh. Arun Gupta Executive Engineer, Sh. Anil Kumar Gupta Assistant Executive Engineer, Sh. Vishal Junior Engineer, Concerned Contractor and Prominent residents were also present during the tour most of the people living in the locality belongs to poor family and there was urgent need for this type of community hall in their ward. They thanked the Mayor as well as Madam Ritu Choudhary Councillor Ward No: 07 for taking keep interest for fulfilling their long pending demands.

Mayor appeal to the general public to come forward and co-operate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in all the development activities undertaken by the department maintain proper cleanliness in and aroun
