Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today inaugurated the Centre of Excellence for e-governance services at the District Commissioner’s Office Complex, Reasi, marking a significant step towards strengthening digital governance and ensuring hassle-free, citizen-centric delivery of public services on a single platform.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the Centre of Excellence has been established as a one-stop facility to provide access to a wide range of online services offered by the government. The initiative aims to streamline the delivery of digital services and ensure greater convenience, transparency and efficiency for the residents of the district.
The DC informed that the centre has been equipped with dedicated operators, including Aadhaar service operators, to assist citizens in applying for online services, tracking application status and availing government services in a smooth and time-bound manner. The facility simplifies access to e-governance services and minimises the need for citizens to visit multiple offices.
Highlighting the objective behind the initiative, he observed that residents from remote areas often travel long distances to reach the district headquarters for government services and face difficulties identifying the appropriate offices or service providers. The Centre of Excellence will serve as an integrated facilitation hub, enabling citizens to access multiple services conveniently under one roof.
He emphasised that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening digital governance, improving public service delivery and enhancing ease of access for the people, particularly those living in rural and underserved areas.
Among those present were Additional District Development Commissioner Krishan Lal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar, Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Nitin Verma and other district officers.
