Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Aalam, today visited the Gund Kilam area to assess public complaints regarding the damaged flood protection bund and alleged illegal mining activities being carried out during odd hours.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected vulnerable spots along the bund and reviewed the ground situation. He also interacted with local residents and listened to their concerns about the ongoing mining activities and the threat posed to the area.
The DC directed the concerned departments to take immediate measures for the protection and restoration of the bund and ensure strict monitoring to curb illegal mining activities in the area.
