UDHAMPUR, MAY 04: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today inspected Lodgement Centres and Community Sanitary Complexes along the National Highway to assess and expedite preparedness for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan. The arrangements being put in place for the pilgrims were thoroughly reviewed.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that as many as 31 Lodgement Centres have been identified along the National Highway in the district to facilitate the yatris.
The DC carried out a detailed review of the available infrastructure and essential facilities at the designated centres. He also enquired about the status of augmentation of drinking water supply, sanitation arrangements, power, lodging facilities and bedding capacity at these locations. He emphasized proper hygiene and regular cleanliness at all centres.
The concerned officers were directed to ensure foolproof arrangements with all basic amenities, leaving no scope for inconvenience to the pilgrims during the Yatra.
