TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan: 100-Day Campaign continues across Pulwama

PULWAMA, APRIL 18: Under the ongoing TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – 100-Day Campaign, a series of health awareness, screening and outreach Shivirs were successfully conducted across various locations of District Pulwama by the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) Pulwama to strengthen tuberculosis screening, early detection and community awareness.

A screening Shivir utilising hand-held portable X-ray technology was conducted at Chandgam, Pulwama, focusing on early detection among high-risk populations. During the camp, X-rays were performed on the spot, enabling prompt identification and referral of suspected cases. Another Shivir was organised at Darul Uloom Talibul Islam, Block Pulwama, where X-rays were conducted using the portable device, ensuring quick and efficient screening of attendees.

During these Shivirs, emphasis was laid on Jan Bhagidari (community participation), with awareness and engagement initiatives carried out to sensitise the local population about the importance of early screening, timely diagnosis and adherence to treatment. An IEC (Information, Education and Communication) vehicle was also utilised to disseminate awareness messages regarding TB prevention, symptoms and availability of free treatment services under NTEP.

Simultaneously, screening and IEC activities were carried out across various Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) in Pulwama to ensure wider outreach and coverage of vulnerable groups.
