
SRINAGAR, APRIL 15: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar held review meeting of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) today at the Conference Hall of District Court Srinagar under the aegis of the J&K Legal Services Authority, Srinagar.
The meeting was conducted under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar.
The meeting was convened by Tabassum Qadir Parray, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar, who emphasized the crucial role of Para Legal Volunteers in spreading legal awareness and ensuring access to justice for all sections of society, particularly the marginalized and underprivileged.
During the session, the Secretary sensitized the Para Legal Volunteers about various schemes of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), with special emphasis on creating awareness about the NALSA SPRUHA Scheme. The volunteers were encouraged to actively disseminate information regarding these schemes at the grassroots level so that the benefits reach the deserving sections of society.
Various important aspects relating to the duties and responsibilities of PLVs were discussed in detail. The participants were guided on their role in legal aid activities, outreach programmes, and assisting litigants effectively.
Further, the importance of dedication, coordination, and proactive engagement by PLVs in strengthening the legal aid system was highlighted and PLVs were encouraged to work with sincerity and commitment.
All the Para Legal Volunteers actively participated in the meeting, making it interactive and fruitful. Queries raised by the participants were addressed comprehensively and necessary feedback was taken from PLVs.
The meeting concluded with reaffirming the commitment of DLSA Srinagar towards enhancing legal awareness and access to justice.
