Kargil 26 july 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the heroes of the Kargil War at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass on the occasion of the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas. India won the Kargil War on 26 July 1999. Every year this day is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today this great land of Ladakh is witnessing the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Kargil Vijay Diwas tells us that the sacrifices made for the nation are immortal. PM Modi said that I remember how our forces carried out such a difficult war operation at such a height. I respectfully salute all such brave men who brought victory to the country. I salute those martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice to protect the motherland in Kargil.
Kargil Vijay Diwas tells that the names of those who put their lives at stake to protect the country remain immortal. This country is grateful to them. The Prime Minister said that we did not only win the war in Kargil. But truth has also won. At that time India was working for peace, but Pakistan betrayed. Pakistan had to face defeat. Pakistan has not learned anything from its history. Pakistan is trying to make itself relevant with the help of terrorism and proxy war.
‘The enemy will be given a befitting reply’
The PM said that ‘Today I am speaking from this platform. From here the masters of terrorism can hear my voice directly. I want to tell them that their evil intentions will never succeed. The enemy will be given a befitting reply. Friends, whether it is Ladakh or Jammu and Kashmir, India will defeat every challenge coming in the way of development.’
In a few days, it will be five years since 370 was repealed. Today Jammu and Kashmir is talking about new dreams. Today conferences like G20 are being organized in Jammu and Kashmir.
