Multilingual Mushaira organized by Writers’ Forum Jammu

 

Writers’ Forum, Jammu conducted a Multilingual Mushaira at K L Saigal Hall of Cultural Academy, Canal Road, Jammu on Sunday. Dr. Arvind Raina, noted writer residing in Dubai was the chief guest on this occasion. Ahmed Shecaas, writer was the guest of honour and Prof. Lalit Magotra, President, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu & a renowned writer presided over the programme. S. Pritpal Singh Betab, Patron Writers’ Forum and Sh. Sudhir Mahajan, President of the Forum were present on this occasion among other intellectuals, writers and poets.
In the programme, the poets recited their creations on various themes of social, political and day to day life situations. The poets who recited their poetry in Urdu, Punjabi, Gojri and Hindi included M S Kamra, Amar Singh Kuka, Harjit Singh Uppal, Sham Sajan, Sudhir Mahajan, Jang S. Verman, Amin Banihali, Amarjeet Kaur Neer, Suraj Ratan, Suman Pal, Mohd. Baqir Saba, Rampaul Dogra, Bhupinder Bhargav, Harjit Uppal, Ghulam Sarwar Choudhary, Charanjit Singh Channi, Joginder Singh Pandhi, Balwinder Singh Deep, Vijaya Thakur, Randhir Singh Raipuria, M S Kaamra, Tara Chand Kalandaria, Dr. Pawan Khajuria, Pritpal Singh Betab, Dr. Raj Kumar, Sham Talib and others.
Speaking on this occasion Prof. Lalit Magotra, in his presidential address said that all the poets recited best of their poetry to show their concerns with various issues of the society and their viewpoint. He said that the writers and poets can lead the society with their creations and add to the society culturally and socially. He also read out his select poems.
Dr. Arvind Raina and Ahmed Shenaas also expressed their views on this occasion and recited their poetry. They appreciated the role of Writers’ Forum to organize such events and bringing forth the fine poetry of poets of different languages.
Earlier S. Pritpal Singh IAS welcomed the poets and guests. He gave a brief of the activities of the Forum.
