Vibrant, participative anti-drug awareness programmes held across Shopian

Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan campaign, a series of awareness and outreach programmes were organised across District Shopian today to educate the people about the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan.

Yoga sessions, awareness lectures and interactive programmes were conducted in educational institutions of the district where students and staff actively participated and pledged to promote a healthy & drug-free lifestyle.

An inter-school debate competition was also organised at HSS Vehil under the banner of NMJKA, where students highlighted the growing menace of substance abuse and stressed the collective responsibility of society in eradicating it.

Similarly, awareness activities were held at HS Pinjoora and HS Mantribugh Shopian, sensitizing participants about the social, psychological and health-related consequences of drug addiction.

Other departments also organised scheduled activities. GDC Shopian, KPDCL, ICDS, Ayush and Revenue department conducted various awareness events where officials, students, youth and local residents participated enthusiastically.

Speakers highlighted the hazards effects of drug abuse and urged people especially youth to stay away from narcotics and stressed the need for coordinated and committed efforts towards the goal of drug free society.

Participants were also encouraged to proactively spread awareness at the grassroots level and contribute actively towards building a healthy, safe and drug- free Shopian.
