ADC reviews enforcement of NGT guidelines in Bhaderwah

To safeguard environmentally sensitive areas, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutyal has ordered strict enforcement of National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines across the subdivision.

During a high-level review meeting held today, the ADC emphasized strict implementation of environmental norms including scientific waste management and ecological protection. Key directions issued included daily monitoring of waste collection systems and the mandatory sharing of geo-tagged photographs on a daily basis to ensure transparency and accountability.

The ADC further directed the concerned departments to achieve 100 percent door-to-door waste collection in rural areas. Special stress was laid on improving sanitation in marketplaces, with instructions to deploy separate vehicles for the collection of waste from fruit and vegetable markets as well as chicken shops. Additionally, chain-link fencing was proposed to prevent waste dumping in vulnerable areas.

The ADC further directed the Executive Officer Municipal Committee, BDO and Division Officer Pollution Control Committee to launch an awareness programme regarding daily monitoring of the waste collection system and sanitation drives in schools, college and main markets in the town. The Municipal Committee Bhaderwah was also instructed to stop illegal construction activities.

The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer PWD(R&B), Executive Engineer Mechanical Department, Executive Engineer I&FC, Block Development Officer, Assistant Executive Engineer Jal Shakti and representatives from other departments.
