UDHAMPUR, APRIL 25: As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness and public safety, the District Administration Udhampur, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, conducted a Civil Defence Air Raid mock drill in Udhampur town today with the main exercise held at Shanti Niketan High School.
More than 200 individuals, including members of the civil society and officials from Revenue, Police, Health, Education, Information, NDRF, SDRF, Telecom, Traffic and Fire & Emergency Services actively participated in the drill.
The exercise was organized with the objective of educating and sensitizing the local population about effective emergency response protocols during blackout situations and other unforeseen crises.
The mock drill simulated a real-time emergency scenario, demonstrating coordinated responses among civil defence volunteers, local residents and emergency service agencies.
Key activities included evacuation procedures, first-aid demonstrations, fire safety measures and basic rescue operations, thereby equipping citizens with practical knowledge and immediate response strategies during emergencies.
