
BARAMULLA, APRIL 15: Department of Youth Services and Sports Baramulla continues to witness vibrant sports activities across various zones of the district, as Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions, Cross Country Runs, and Intramural events were successfully conducted, engaging hundreds of young students.
Zone Wagoora and Zone Tangmarg today formally kicked off the Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions with great enthusiasm and participation. In Zone Wagoora, a Badminton competition for Under-14 girls was organized at HSS Kreeri, where 42 students from various government and private schools participated with zeal and sportsmanship.
Similarly, Zone Tangmarg organized a Chess competition for Under-14 boys and girls at GHS Tangmarg, witnessing enthusiastic participation and showcasing the strategic skills of young minds.
Adding to the spirit of fitness and awareness, Zone Dangerpora organized a Cross Country Run under the banner of Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, in which hundreds of students actively participated. The event aimed at promoting physical fitness while spreading awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse among youth.
Meanwhile, Zone Jhulla conducted a series of Intramural Competitions in games such as Kabaddi and Volleyball for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls. The competitions saw massive participation, providing a platform for students to exhibit their talent and encouraging grassroots-level sports development.
These activities are being conducted as per the Annual Sports Calendar issued by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, ensuring holistic development, discipline, and active engagement of students across the district.
