Jammu: The country’s President Droupadi Murmu will visit Jammu and Kashmir on her first visit on October 11. She will return on October 12 after attending various programs including the convocation ceremony of Kashmir University. Preparations for the President’s visit have been started at the administrative level. There will be strict security arrangements during this period. There will also be route diversion in the areas surrounding the venue.
Sources said that along with attending the convocation ceremony of Kashmir University on October 11, it is proposed to organize a light and sound show on the banks of Dal Lake and a dinner in his honor at Raj Bhawan on the same day in the evening. Some other programs are also proposed, in which along with talks with military officers, there is also a program to pay tribute to the soldiers sacrificed in recent times.
Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, Prof. Neelofar Khan told that the convocation ceremony will be held on October 11 at the Convocation Complex. After the convocation address, the President will honor the meritorious students from the year 2020 onwards. In the program, 473 students will be given gold medals and MPhil and PhD degrees. Preparations for the ceremony have been started.
