There is no need to have the knowledge of rocket science to unravel the truth behind school education department’s employees enjoying promotions and extra perks on the basis of post graduate degrees obtained through devious means or schemes which are not recognized by the government of J&K because a simple audit of educational qualifications of all the staffers can bring to fore the truth behind the Gorakhdhandha carried out by some of the defaulter employees. It is pertinent to mention that the School Education Department (SED) has widened the probe to include other subjects from Science discipline to verify the validity of the postgraduate degrees obtained by the teachers as earlier the department has withdrawn placement of around 72 school teachers and masters from Environmental Science over invalid PG degrees. When the wrongdoing by such a large number of employees has already come to fore then the need of the time is to take cognizance of the matter and check the degrees of all the employees whether from Science stream or any other to ensure that no one goes scot-free. It is known to one and all that the aforesaid case is a big scam and if the complete audit of the school education department’s employees will be carried out the chances are bright that more skeletons will come out of the SED’s cupboard. Reports coming out are suggesting that for now the aforesaid department has started verification of the degrees obtained by the teachers while being in service and the same action will be taken as was followed in case of the degrees obtained by the teachers and masters in Environmental Science subject. The process has already started by the department to verify the authenticity of the degrees obtained by the teachers in Science stream and also in Computer and Electronics subjects. There is dire need to hand over the matter to investigating agencies of the state government to rule out that possibility of criminal conspiracy in the matter as how come such a large number of government employees can do the same mistake of obtaining degrees without following the set procedures and then submitting the same to get promotional benefits as well as financial?
