As snowfall is expected anytime soon the places which receive snow should be prepared to cater to the needs of the tourists and the roads leading to the same should also be rejuvenated to ensure that during and after the snowfall these remain through allowing tourist traffic to and fro without any hindrance or difficulty. Patnitop, Bhaderwah and several other places in Jammu can lure visitors during the harsh winters when the mountains in the vicinity are covered with snow and there are ample ways to engage the tourists in winter activities. Jammu is blessed with abundant tourism potential and if the same gets focused attention of the government there is not an iota of doubt that the same will give fillip to the regional economy in a real big way. There are umpteen ways by which the winter tourism can be promoted in the region as this can bring about much needed economic revolution in Jammu. It is a fact that tourism has sustained the economy of UT in general and Jammu in particular during most difficult times in the past and promoting these destinations in winter months will prove as a catalyst for economic transformation here. As the government headed by LG Manoj Sinha has shown extraordinary interest in promoting tourism in Jammu region by taking out of the box decisions, the days are not far when tourist footfall will see unprecedented rise as Jammu Tawi Artificial lake is on cards with many associated facilities coming up in the heart of Jammu City, retreat ceremony at the Suchetgarh border already going on in full swing and plenty of other similar initiatives in offing. There is need to expedite work on the New Pilgrim Tourist Circuits to give options to people to explore Jammu region and experience its beauty and warmth because not only the places here are scintillating but the people and culture of this region are also inspiring especially the hospitality which the locals extend is marvelous. Every single step in this direction can be a great help in boosting the economy of the UT therefore all the stakeholders should play their part with utmost sincerity to achieve the target of a booming tourism industry in J&K.
