PEOPLE SHOULD COOPERATE

PEOPLE SHOULD COOPERATE

The assertion made by the top cop in J&K that overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir is peaceful and the next elections will be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere as hartals and stone-pelting have become a thing of the past is of great significance because to bring such a pleasant change in the UT, the belt forces including police and army have given many sacrifices. As the DGP Dilbag Singh has been so confident in claiming that the upcoming polls in J&K will be held in peaceful atmosphere, there lies a big responsibility on the shoulders of the common man in the UT to act as ears and eyes of the security forces and report any activity of suspicion to the nearest police station, army camp or CAPF center to ensure that the last violence monger in the region will also be taken to task and complete peace returns to J&K especially the Valley. The internal threat of revival of terrorism in Kashmir has almost ended but Pakistan seems to be n no mood to mend its ways and is trying to push ultras into India and revive subversive activities in the peaceful areas. Although police and other security agencies are alert to the threat and are foiling Pak designs but the people can also play a vital role in combating Pak sponsored terrorism by remaining vigilant and holding liaison with the men in Khaki and Olive as this could prove to be as game changer because without local support the foreign mercenaries could not survive a day in J&K. The people should understand this fact and stand shoulder to shoulder with the government and the security forces to ensure that no ultra can survive in J&K in the coming time. On the other hand the government should also give rewards to people giving important clues to nab or eliminate the terror mongers because this is a national cause and very vital to bail out the people of J&K from the vicious cycle of violence. The LG Manoj Sinha has also said that the scenario in Kashmir has changed drastically with people showing faith in government policies and rejecting the stance of those who abet separatism and terrorism. This change is quite vital for the peace, progress and prosperity in J&K and therefore every single resident of the region should toe the same line for the better future of J&K and its people.
