
District Administration Udhampur today organised the grand finale of Udhampur’s Got Talent, a singing competition conducted under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Riwayat Palace, Udhampur.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, was the chief guest on the occasion.
The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, IAS Probationer Dr. Shagun Singh, PO Poshan Subash Dogra, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Bhat, District Information Officer Neeraj Bhargav other officers prominent citizens, and representatives of civil society.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from talented youth across the district, who showcased their musical abilities and creativity through captivating performances.
The programme was organised with the objective of encouraging young talent and spreading awareness against drug abuse through positive and constructive activities.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the efforts of the participants and emphasised the importance of involving youth in cultural and creative platforms to promote a healthy and drug-free society. He highlighted that such initiatives play a significant role in motivating young minds towards constructive pursuits and strengthening social awareness.
He reiterated that the fight against drug abuse requires collective efforts from all sections of society, including parents, teachers, youth, civil society members and law enforcement agencies.
Dr. Mukteshi Sharma, Assistant Professor of Music, Department of Music, Government College for Women Udhampur along with renowned singers Sars Bharti and Bishan Dass, acted as judges for the competition.
In the competition, Aaradhya Sharma clinched the first prize, while Babu Ram and Surjeet Singh secured the second and third positions respectively.
The District Administration expressed gratitude to judges, participants and members of the public for making the event a grand success.
The event concluded with prize distribution among the winners and participants, along with a renewed pledge towards building a drug-free and progressive society.
Later, the Chief Guest distributed prizes and certificates among the winners and participants.
