The security forces have once again foiled a big plan of terrorist attack in Kashmir. Three terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Hit Squad The Resistance Front (TRF), who are planning a terrorist attack in the Valley on Independence Day, have been surrounded by security forces in the Waterhole area of Budgam district of central Kashmir. Firing continues from both the sides. Confirming the siege of the terrorists, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that TRF’s active terrorist Latif Rather is involved in the siege. So far, the security forces have killed two terrorists while the encounter is still going on.
It is pertinent to mention here that these terrorists are hiding in the upper mountainous area of the Waterhole area. Due to the dense forest, the terrorists are continuously firing on the security forces under the cover of trees. The security forces are trying their best to kill these terrorists before it gets dark. At present, the entire area is being cordoned off so that the terrorists do not escape under the cover of the forest.
The ADGP said that the police had been looking for Latif for a long time. He has been involved in several civilian killings in Kashmir. He was also involved in the murder of Kashmiri Hindus Rahul Bhatt and Amrin Bhat. He said that very soon all the terrorists trapped in the siege would be killed.
