BEFITTING STEP
The government is doing yeoman’s job in tightening noose around those who are habitual of providing strategic assistance and harbouring the violence mongers in the Valley as these entities are abetting terrorism and are behind the mushroom growth of local terrorists in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Unlike successive dispensations, the incumbent administration in the Union Territory led by LG Manoj Sinha has taken the right path to ensure that no one dares to help the terror mongers by acting tough against the supporters of terrorism. In this context, Jammu and Kashmir administration has sealed five residential houses in Srinagar for allegedly providing shelter to terrorists. This befitting action is a message for those who have committed sins in the last many years by supporting terrorists in carrying out their nefarious designs and helping them to devastate property and kill innocents in the name of religious ‘barbarism’. The action taken by the government is quite necessary to deter others from indulging into all this because the strategic support by common people provides wings to terrorism which should not be tolerated at any cost. It is pertinent to mention here that the action in the aforesaid case has been accomplished under proper legal proceedings because the houses have been sealed under Section 2(g) and Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities Prevent Act, pertaining to curbing terrorist activities in the country. The action followed after the government ascertained that these houses beyond any doubt were used for terrorism related acts and the shelter or harbour was voluntarily or knowingly given by the people connected with the aforesaid residential accommodations. The houses were primarily used as terrorist hideouts besides dwelling sited for conspiring and planning attacks on civilians and security forces. More of such actions should follow in the Valley to end the vicious cycle of violence and killings because it has become necessary now to either eliminate or put behind bars, whosoever indulges into terror activities. The people should understand that their support to terrorists results into killing of fellow citizens, which is under no religious belief or ideology is admissible and therefore is sheer act of terrorism which the government would not tolerate. It is therefore the duty of every citizen to inform the security forces about any such case which comes to fore to end the violence in the Valley.
