Rubia Saeed, daughter of former Home Minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and sister of Mehbooba Mufti, has been summoned by TADA Court, Jammu as a witness. The case pertains to the kidnapping of Rubia Saeed thirty years ago. There are other accused including terrorist and separatist leader Yasin Malik in this case. The next hearing in this case is to be held in July at TADA Court Jammu.

On May 25, the NIA Court sentenced Yasin Malik to double life imprisonment in the terror funding case. Yasin Malik is also facing a case of murder of four Air Force officers, including the kidnapping of Rubia Saeed. In such a situation, now Yasin Malik seems to be tightening the noose on these matters as well.

On December 8, 1989, Rubia Saeed, daughter of the country’s Home Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was kidnapped by Yasin Malik and other terrorists. In return, five dreaded terrorists lodged in various jails had to be released. On January 25, 1990, about one and a half months after this incident, Yasin Malik and other JKLF terrorists fired indiscriminately on Air Force personnel in Srinagar. Four died in this, while 40 others were injured.
