FAKE NARRATIVE

FAKE NARRATIVE

As it is known to one and all that turmoil in the Valley suits the National Conference more as compared to peace and tranquility therefore the party’s Vice President Omar Abdullah is relying on different parameters to assess normalcy in the region. The narrative which the former chief minister wants to feed in Kashmir that the normalcy claims of government are dubious is not for anybody else but for the sustenance of his own party as NC has survived in the valley for so long only by tacitly supporting forces inimical to tranquility. The logic which the NC Vice President is giving is ludicrous because his questioning over the government’s steps to maintain peace is nothing but testimony to the fact that he is living in fool’s paradise as is childish in nature. He has asked that if the claims of normalcy in the Valley by government are true, why Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida prayers are barred at historic Jamia Masjid? Well it is a known fact that Kashmir still has residual terror edifice and the government is taking all possible steps to root it out and stopping people from gathering in one way or the other is part of strategy to save lives of common man and instead of criticizing he should have applauded the government for taking necessary precautions. He has also said that linking tourist arrivals with normalcy won’t do. It is really hard to understand that for the sake of politics, Omar has forgotten the basis on which the situation of a region can be assessed or determined. Of course, tourist arrival in bulk is a sign of normalcy and the government has every right to project it as its success in the Valley. It seems that Omar out of frustration of losing political relevance in the UT has been indulging in such low level of politics by spreading fake narratives over the government’s failure. The government is doing its best in the Valley to contain terrorism as identifying terrorists, locating them and eliminating the same is in vogue these days and sooner than later the Valley will be free from terrorism.
