PM Modi, Nepal PM Deuba hold bilateral talks, set to inaugurate cross-border rail link

New Delhi, April 2.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba sat down for bilateral talks on Saturday for further strengthening of the close bilateral relations. The two leaders are holding talks at Hyderabad House, following which they are to jointly inaugurate the cross-border Kurtha-Jayanagar railway link, built with Indian assistance, and over 130 health posts constructed with Indian assistance in Nepal post the 2015 earthquake. Earlier, the Nepalese PM, who arrived yesterday on a three-day official visit, visited Rajghat where he laid a wreath in tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. On Friday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called on the Nepal PM at the ITC Maurya Hotel, where he is staying. Prior to that, Deuba visited the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and met party president President JP Nadda.
