ANOTHER GOOD STEP

ANOTHER GOOD STEP

After taking appropriate action against the government land encroachers in Bathindi area through comprehensive demolition drive, the UT Administration under the stewardship of dynamic Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has taken another much sought after measure of ensuring eviction of unauthorized occupants from Jammu Municipal Corporation flats in Gandhi Nagar area. Such actions speak louder than words that the UT Administration is doing its best to implement law precisely by showing the mirror to those who give two hoots to the norms and rules of the land. The aforesaid steps of the government were the most daring ones because no government in the past had shown spine to act against such habitual offenders who never cared of following the law of the land. It is pertinent to mention that The JMC team accompanied by Police force and Magistrate, evicted the unauthorized occupants from the aforesaid flats as prior notices were already served to them following court direction. There are total nine residential flats of JMC in Gandhi Nagar area, most posh locality of Jammu city. Most of these residential flats were illegally occupied by retired employees of JMC and a few others by politically connected persons. The J&K High Court had already ordered for eviction of these JMC flats from the illegal occupants, who included retired Commissioner and Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation. The action taken in this context is most appropriate but the people sitting at helm should also make sure that the officials who connived with these illegal occupants to create such an ugly situation should not go scot-free. This is significant for the prevalence of justice and will also act as a deterrent for other officials who have plans to do something similar. The response from people is also warm as government has ensured justice delivery without any discrimination or bias. Truly, LG J&K Manoj Sinha deserves applause for smoothly carrying out things which are just and needful for instilling confidence among common masses that government is of the people, by the people and for the people, which now is the reality. There are certain other personalities who are occupying government flats despite losing their entitlement and the way the government is functioning, it seems that the next action will be taken against them.
