NO NEED OF SERMONS

NO NEED OF SERMONS

It is irksome that despite Pakistan’s hostile stand on every issue which India takes up with regard to Kashmir whether its abrogation of Article 370 or bifurcation of J&K, the former chief minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti is reiterating the demand of dialogue with Pakistan. It seems that the PDP leader has been obsessed with that country because when Pakistan Prime Minister is brazenly supporting those inciting terror in J&K and decrying India at every international platform then no scope is left for the country to initiate any kind of talks. It is pertinent to mention that PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has reiterated her call to the BJP Government for dialogue with Pakistan and the people of Jammu and Kashmir, saying that peace would be elusive as long as Kashmir remained unresolved. If one dissects her statement, it seems that she is ‘threatening’ the government in a way that if it will not talk to Pakistan the Kashmir issue will not be resolved. She should understand that Kashmir is an integral part of the country and Pakistan has no locus-standi to get into it or meddle with India over the issue. Such irresponsible statements by Mehbooba at times raise doubt about her integrity towards the country as she is more concerned about what Pakistan wants rather than toeing the line of Indian government, which actually should be the case for her. Her uttering that Kashmir has been awaiting a solution for the last 70 years and there will be no peace in the region until the Kashmir issue is resolved by dialogue with Pakistan and the people of J&K really needs to be examined closely because why did she want the Indian government to talk to Pakistan? This is not so simple because already Pakistan has backstabbed India on many occasions like in the case of Kargil conflict and therefore the government should no pay any heed to the voices coming from the Valley over the issue and continue with its policy independently looking into the interests of the country and its people including the Kashmiris.
