Two-day District Level Thangtha Championship concludes

Two-day District Level Thangtha Championship organized by J&K Thangtha Association concluded here today at Paloura.
On the closing ceremony, Hari Singh Chib, President DCC Rural was the Chief Guest while Uday Bhanu Chib, President JKPYC was the Guest of Honour.
Perfect Foundation Public School clinched the 1st Runner up Trophy while Jai Gulta Club and Academy of Tanisha- Do bagged 2nd Runner Up and 3rd Runner up Trophies respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Hari Singh Chib complemented the winners and wished them for their bright future.
Chib said that sports are imperative for over all personality development of youth as these help in inculcating discipline among them. He asked the government to create adequate sports infrastructure in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir aiming to provide youth an opportunity to excel in the sports of their choice. He also stressed upon parents to imbibe liking for sports among the youth so that they can grow into physical and mentally strong citizens and contribute in the development of state and the nation.
Uday Chib, in his address, asked the youth to come forward and participate in such type of competitions being held at various levels from time to time.
He complemented J&K Thangtha Association for conducting the championship which would nurture the youth towards and keep them bay from the social evils and crime like drug abuse. He said that Jammu and Kashmir have immense talent and from time and again they have proved their mettle and made J&K proud. “There is a dire need to further development sports infra with which the sportspersons would be able to prove themselves besides providing them a suitable playing platform,” Uday Chib said. Among those who were present included Amandeep, Rohit, Shivani, Ankush, Jai Gupta, Shubam Sharma, Aman Verma and Chetan Puri.
