Continuing his drive to provide better civic amenities to the children as well as staff members of school, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 02/03/2021 in presence of Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Nangali Dera Sahib, Prof. Youdhvir Singh Councilor of ward no. 73, Executive Engineer Div-IV, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Junior Engineer Manjot Singh, Chief Education Officer, Jammu Sh. Vijay Sharma, Rtd. SDM S. Charanjeet Singh, Pardan Balbir Singh inaugurated a Deluxe Toilet Complex at Govt. Girls High School Bhour Camp Jammu under Swachh Bharat Mission. Principal of the School alongwith staff members, prominent inhabitants of Bhour Camp & its adjoining localities were also present during the function which was held in a very simple manner. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the School management which has now been fulfilled today with the sincere efforts of the concerned councilor of the ward with an estimate cost of 10.50 lacs and has been constructed by NGO namely”Kashmir Institute of Research and Education” under Swacch Bharat Mission having separate toilet/bathing facilities for both males and females. Mayor further told that JMC has constructed a large number of CT/PT’s in various wards of the city so as to avoid any type of open defecation and making Jammu really an open defecation free and clean city. He further told that JMC in collaboration with other departments is committed to provide best possible development facilities in every ward of the city irrespective of any cast, religion & breed in terms of installation of LED street lights in every corner of the city, commissioning of open air gyms in the various parks, installation of beautiful fountains in different rotaries of the city, starting of construction of multitier parking at Panjthirthi Jammu as well as various other major projects.
Later mayor alongwith Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, JMC also inaugurated the construction work of Raft at basement of Multitier parking at Municipal land, Panjthirthi Jammu. Sh. Sunil Thusu Joint Commissioner (Works), Sh Anil Kumar Gupta, XEN (Project Division), Sh. Raj Kumar Khajuria Assistant Executive Engineer, Sh Mohit Gupta Junior Engineer alongwith other supervisory staff of project division JMC as well as General & Project Manager of M/s Vishal Associates who have been allotted the work of that Multitier parking and prominent inhabitants of the panjthirthi & its surrounding localities were also remained present at the site.
Mayor told that it is a very vital project of JMC which was in pipeline from the last many years and the Hon’ble Deputy Mayor has taken a keen interest keeping in view the demands of the general public and it will be completed by March 2022 and having two basements, one ground floor & four floors with capacity of approx. 260 four wheelers and 136 two wheelers and after its completion, the inhabitants of especially old city will get a sign of relief from frequent traffic jams. Deputy Mayor also spoke on the occasion and appeal to the general public to come forward and cooperate with JMC & other allied departments in all the development activities being undertaken in the city, donot throw garbage/waste materials in the open, always use nearby Municipal Containers or vehicles authorized by JMC, donot use single used plastics /polythenes, adopt the habit of segregation of dry/wet waste at their own level, adopt modern techniques to reduce water generation, plant more and more saplings in and around their localities where sufficient space is available as trees are air purifiers and maintain healthy environment so that Jammu can be made really a smart city.
