Mayor Kick Starts Various Development Works In Jammu City

Continuing the drive to provide more development & civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Dr. Akshay Sharma Councilor of ward no.8 today on 30/12/2020 conducted an extensive tour in the various localities of the ward & kick started the installation work of mesh fencing by way of fixing of M.S. Sheets /View cutters on both sides of bridge at Old Rehari near Vishav Hindi Parishad office Sh. Suresh Salgotra ward President, Dr. Surjeet Singh, Sh. Raman Sharma, Sh. Bunty Kumar, Sh. Puneet Chawla, Sh. Bishan Dass, Sh. Raghuveer Kumar, Sh. Ashok Salgotra, Sh. Prithvi Duggal, Madam Sharda Devi and other prominent inhabitants of the locality as well as Sh. Vishal Kotwal Junior Engineer, work supervisor & other supervisory staff of heath section were also remained present during the tour of the Mayor.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that although the transport/sanitation staff of JMC under the guidance of concerned Hon’ble Councilor is doing their job to lift the garbage /filth etc from this site on regular basis. But there is urgent requirement of some permanent solution to keep the area neat and clean & the councilor of the ward have taken keen interest & initiatives to start the installation of much needed work of mesh fencing with sufficient height on about 600ft length (300 ft on each side of the bridge) at this particular site with an estimate cost of Rs 12.50 lacs only so that no garbage, polythenes, filth etc & other waste materials can be thrown from this pulley/bridge by the general public and passersby towards the open area of school premises as well as residential locality and requested the locals to cooperate with sanitation staff in keeping the area neat and garbage free.

 

 

Later Mayor alongwith Sh. Anil Kumar Masoom Hon’ble Councillor of ward no.10 also kick started the upgradtion & beautification work of Rani park Jammu. Mayor told that it is a traditional as well as one of the oldest park which is situated just in the heart of old Jammu city where people from all walks of life visits on routine basis for morning/evening walk & said that management committee of this park has been doing tremendous job in maintaining it in proper condition & they have represented to the Hon’ble Councilor Sh. Anil Masoom to complete the left over development works & after his sincere efforts, this development work in terms of laying of colorful tiles, installation of railings consists of stainless steel along all sides of the park, commissioning of beautiful fountain in the middle of park, installation of about 110 ft length pillor/superior rod for unfurling the national flag as well as other allied works. Mayor said that this development work has been started with an estimate cost of Rs 25.00 lacs only. Sh. Parveeen Kerni East mandal president , Sh Vishav Partap Singh , Sh Pawan Sharma, Sh Ashish Jain, Sh Rahul Hindu, Sh Darshan Singh, Sh Chandan Gupta moti Bazar Shopkeepers association, S. Baz Singh Ji president Gurudwara Ranipark, Sh Sahil kumar , Sh Parul Kumar, Sh Tarun Gupta, Sh Jatinder Vaid & other prominent residents as well as Sh Arun Gupta Executive Engineer, Sh. Raj Khajuria Assistant executive Engineer, Sh Vishal kotwal Junior Engineer of Division-I, concerned contractor & other field staff of various sections of JMC were also accompanied the mayor during the tour. He directed the concerned engineering wing to complete this much needed upgradation/beautification work of the park within stipulated time frame by applying best quality construction material for its long durability and appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC in all the development works being undertaken in various wards of the city donot use single used plastics items/polythenes in their routine life, adopt the habit of segregation of dry/wet waste at their own level, donot throw filth, garbage, waste material in the open & always use nearby dustbins installed by the JMC for collecting garbage/filth etc. so that Jammu can be made neat, clean and green city.
