TRF module busted by police in Jammu, AK rifle, pistol recovered

Jammu Police have busted a module of The Resistance Force (TRF) and recovered cache of arms and ammunition including Ak rifle, pistols and magazines.

Police spokesman here on Saturday said that on Friday, based on a reliable input regarding movement of terrorists with automatic weapons in Narwal area heading towards Srinagar, a team of Special Operation Group, Jammu laid a special check point at Narwal area. At about 1730 hours, he said that when the SOG team was conducting vehicle checking in the area, one car (JK18A 9967) tried to escape the check point (Naka).

Observing the suspicious movement, SOG team immediately chased the vehicle and apprehended two suspects aboard.

 

 

 

Arrested persons were identified as Raees Ahmad Dar of Churath, Qazigund and Subzar Ahmad Sheikh of Ashmuji, Kulgam

The spokesman said that on checking one bag in possession of Raees, the recovery has been made, which included one AK series rifle, one pistol, two magazines of AK series, 60 AK-rounds and 15 pistol rounds.

A case has been registered and investigation started.

Pertinent to mention that Raees Ahmad Dar of Churat has a previous history of involvement in terror activities having four cases registered against him.

Initial investigation reveals that he is working for TRF.

The role of his associate is also being ascertained.

Jammu police is further investigating the case to unearth complete network of associates providing support to terror activities.
