SSB man decamped with ammunition, detained in Rajouri’s Manjakote

A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) man, who decamped with ammunition from his camp in Budgam, was detained on Friday from Manjakote belt of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A senior police officer here said that a truck loaded with fruit and on way to Jammu from Srinagar via Mughal Road was intercepted this morning at a naka on Jammu-Poonch highway in Manjakote area.
“During checking, SSB man Altaf Hussain was found sitting along with driver and he was arrested on the spot while the official weapon with magazine, was recovered from him,” they added.
An SSB man has “absconded” along with a magazine of his service rifle from a camp in central Kashmir’s Budgam two days back. He was a native of Rehan village in Kotranka, Rajouri.
“There was no militancy-related angle in this case but still we are investigating the matter,” police added.
