Juveniles joining militancy should stop: Chinar Corps

Chinar Corps has stressed the need to stop juveniles from joining militancy in the Kashmir valley, where they are being lured into terror.

A tweet on official account of Chinar Corps, Indian said ” Underage juveniles are being lured into terror and then being made to release messages on social media to close options of return. This needs to stop”.

It further said that “An 18 yr old resident of Awantipora was reported to be absconding on 11 Sep & on 12 Sep, he uploaded an audio to announce joining terrorism. He was tracked & arrested on 28 Sep, within 17 days”

Tweet further said “A 17 yr old newly recruited terrorist, resident of Wuzur, was reported to be absconding on 27 Sep and his photo of having joined a terror tanzeem was released on social media on 27 Sep. The individual surrendered within three days of reports of his absconding”.

It said the teenager has joined Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and his code name was Abu Zarar.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha launching the Back to Village (B2V) phase three at Shopian in south Kashmir on Friday urged militants to shun the path of militancy and join the mainstream. He promised help to those who shun the path of violence and lead a peaceful life.

Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh and senior Army officers have also appealed to local militants to surrender and lead a peaceful and normal life.

Mr Singh said over 20 youths who had gone astray has returned back and joined their families in the valley while two militants were allowed to surrender during encounters.
