Continuing his drive to provide better development & civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 24/09/2020 conducted an extensive tour in the various wards of the Jammu city met with the locals & listened to their grievances concerning JMC & other allied deparments. He alongwith Madam Anu Bali councilor of ward no: 24, Sh. Surinder Choudhary, Councilor of Ward No: 29 kick started Black Topping work of various roads & interior lanes from Panchi Nagar Rehari to onwards. Sh. Naveen Bali, Sh. Atul Bakshi & other prominent inhabitants of the area as well as concerned Engineers of Public Works Department (PWD) were also remained present there. Mayor was apprised by the PWD department that the macademization of various roads/ lanes of ward no: 24, 27 & 28 is being undertaken by the department with an estimated cost of Rs 95 lacs only, the tender of which has already been floated. Mayor directed the PWD engineers that before starting the blacktopping work, the concerned councilor of the ward be suitably informed and all the works identified by the elected representatives (Hon’ble Councillors) be included in the project so that general public may be benefited from this development work which is the need of the hour as Govt. of J&K has already started Jan Abhiyan in the whole U.T in order to provide all the basic facilities at the doorstep of the common people.Besides this, the Mayor alongwith Sh Yudhveer Sethi Vice President BJP J&K Unit, Sh Anil Kumar Masoom councilor of ward no.10, Sh Dinesh Gupta Councilor of ward no.18, Sh. Parveen Kerni Jammu East Mandal President also inaugurated newly constructed open gym with requisite number of equipments at Rani park of ward no:10. Mayor said that it is dire need in today’s stressful life as it caters with the fitness requirement which is necessary to maintain physical fitness as the ward did not have any suitable place where inhabitants especially household ladies & senior citizens could go for leisure & physical activities at any spare time & without spending as the professional gym owners are charging a huge amount from their customers & the Rani park which is situated just in the heart of city is equipped with such a beautiful thing which can be used by thousands of inhabitants residing in this ward & also adjoining localities.He also told that apart from construction of lanes & drains, JMC has already started various Mega projects such as Installation of Beautiful Fountains in the different rotaries of City, installation of LED street lights in association with PDD & ESSL company with a full proof electric set up & censor system in all the wards of Jammu city, construction of much awaited multi storey parking at Panjthirti Jammu, restoration of traditional water bodies / ponds etc.
He also appeal to the general public to come forward and join hands with Jammu Municipal Corporation in all the development activities being undertaken by the department as without the help of the citizens, it is hard to achieve the goal of “clean Jammu Green Jammu”.
