Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar pays glowing tributes to NC founder Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah on his 38th death anniversary

 

Srinagar: National Conference Senior Leader and former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar today paid glowing tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad on his 38th death anniversary which was observed across the State on Tuesday.

In a statement issued here, NC Former Legislator from Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq and other Party Functionaries from Ganderbal paid floral tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir.
While paying tributes, Mr Jabbar highlighted various facets of the life of Baba-e-Quom, who dedicated his entire life for political awakening and transformation of Jammu and Kashmir as a vibrant, progressive and democratic State.

Mr Jabbar said that that Sheikh Sahib was a popular leader and a social reformer who fought for the rights of the oppressed sections of the society, irrespective of caste, creed or religion and strived for the sustenance of secular and pluralistic values.

Sher-e-Kashmir’s life was a valiant story of selfless leadership. He fought for the political rights and dignity of his people till his last breath. He chose prison over power for his people and it is this sense of sacrifice and courage that needs to be instilled in our youth for the future of our State, Jabbar added.
