BUDGAM, APRIL 17: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a series of awareness and outreach activities were conducted across various locations in Budgam district to reinforce the message of a drug-free society. Outreach workers and counsellors continued their activities in the identified hotspot area of Nasrullapora, engaging with the community and spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse. The initiative focused on counseling, community interaction, and encouraging individuals to adopt a healthy lifestyle. An awareness programme on drug abuse was also organized at SDH Chadoora, where staff and patients actively participated. The programme emphasized the ill effects of substance abuse and highlighted the importance of collective efforts in curbing the menace. In another significant activity, a plantation drive was conducted at Arizal under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Hardapanzoo, involving Government Middle School Hardapanzoo. The drive was organized by Sukhnag Forest Range of Pir Panjal Forest Division Budgam, promoting environmental responsibility alongside the message of a drug-free society. Meanwhile, a pledge on drug abuse was administered at HSS Wagar, where students and staff participated with enthusiasm, reaffirming their commitment towards building a drug-free and healthy society. The district administration reiterated its commitment to intensify the campaign through sustained awareness drives, community participation, and coordinated efforts of all stakeholders to achieve the goal of a drug-free Budgam.
