Pregnant woman under quarantine gives birth to girl child in J-K’s Doda

A pregnant woman under quarantine in Changa area of Doda district has delivered a girl child.
As per official reports, 25-year-old pregnant lady identified as Shazia Begum, wife of Irfan Khan of village Bisran in Block Changa was under quarantine amid COVID-19 pandemic at Dak Bungalow Changa.
The lady developed lady pain and later gave birth to a girl child. Both mother and the newborn are healthy, the reports said.
Pritam Lal Thapa, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gandoh while talking to the EXCELSIOR said that information was received that a pregnant lady under quarantine at Dak Bungalow Changa developed labour pain.
“Acting swiftly over the information, the administration in Gandoh made arrangements for immediate referral of the pregnant lady to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, but the lady delivered the female baby on the way to GMC near Doda headquarters”, Thapa said, adding that both mother and the newborn are healthy and are under examination of the medical experts.
As family members were not allowed to enter into the quarantine center, Gandoh administration made all arrangements for the lady and newborn including food, medicine and clothes, Thapa asserted.
