MAYOR VISITS B.C ROAD, INDRA CHOWK AREAS

Continuing the drive to provide better basic as well as development facilities to the people of Jammu. Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 19/02/2020 conducted an extensive tour in the areas of Indira Chowk, B.C Road and met with representatives of Koh Adda Indira Chowk, Shiv Chabha & Rahri union B.C Road including Sh Kamal kumar Chairman, Sh Nater Sodhi (Kaku), Sh onkar Chand vice president, Sh Ghani sham and other members / shopkeepers of Koh Adda Indira Chowk. They welcomed the mayor for paying visit to their market and putforth their various demands regarding installation/rectification of LED street & High Mask lights in Koh Adda & its adjoining areas as darkness prevails in their market due to non-availability of street lights and the shopkeepers and customers have to face lot of hardships due to defunct street lights. They further demanded for better sanitation & lifting of stray dogs /animals in the locality and proper maintenance/renovation of Koh adda which is the oldest market of Jammu city and large number of people are earning their livelihood by working hard there. Mayor appealed to the association members not to encroach the footpaths / roads of B.C road, Indira Chowk area to avoid traffic congestion in the already crowded locality and cooperate with the staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation in maintaining the city neat, clean , green and encroachment free so that general public may not face any hardships  and can walk freely on the footpaths. He further appeal to them not to use & sale polythenes , single used plastics in their routine work and also avoid throwing garbage filth & other left over materials in the public lanes, roads & drains, plant more and more saplings in and around their locality, adopt the habit of putting dry & waste garbage in separate dustbins so that Jammu can be made really a smart city . He also assured the representatives of said market that all their genuine demands may be redressed on war footing.
