ACB arrest accounts officer, raided house of a retired engineer in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested red handed accounts officer of Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) for accepting bribe.

Meanwhile, sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday raided the house of an Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department in connection with some corruption case.

Official sources said a complaint was received that GDA accounts officer was demanding a bribe of Rs 5000 from a person. The ACB laid a trap and arrested the officer while demanding and accepting the bribe money, they said adding the money was recovered from the accused in presence of an independent witness.

Official sources said that ACB personnel raided the house of Bashir Ahmad Shah, a retired engineer.

They said the raid was conducted in connection with some corruption case. Further details are awaited, they said.
