A Jammu and Kashmir Bank guard was on Friday killed in an accidental firing at a branch in south Kashmir district of Shopian.
Official sources told UNI that the guard identified as Majid Ahmad got injured by the bullet which went off from 12 Bore Rifle of another guard at Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch in Kapran in Shopian.
”The injured was immediately taken to a hospital where he succumbed,” they said.
They said after completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
”Police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they added.
