Security forces late on Tuesday evening launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
Official sources told UNI that following specific information about presence of militants, a joint CASO was launched by Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K police, Army and CRPF at Amlar, Awantipora in Pulwama on Tuesday evening.
They said despite chilly weather condition, security forces were conducting house to house searches in the area. “Searches were also going in nearby orchards and fields in the area,” they said, adding the entire area has been cordoned off to foil any attempt by militants to escape under the cover of darkness.
They said so far no contact was established with militants.
