Inflation at its peak, unemployment record high, economy declining under BJP rule: Bhalla

Jammu: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Sunday expressed deep shock and anguish over the killing of two Army porters including the barbaric beheading of one of them and injuries to three others in a BAT action in Poonch area by Pakistan. He  condemned the Pakistan for the continued misadventure and mischief on the LoC, causing the heavy loss of lives and property to our soldiers and border residents while breaking all past records of ceasefire violations of last 16 years.Bhalla questioned the BJP and Modi Government for its failure to prevent and control Pakistan from indulging in regular mischiefs on borders by resorting to regular ceasefire violations and BAT actions leading to worst kind of international norms and Human Rights violations of beheading the porter. He sought immediate befitting response to such misadventures by Pakistan. When UPA was in power, two such inhuman acts by Pakistan were questioned by BJP and Narendra Modi terming it a weak Government but now several such shameful mischiefs were done by Pakistan but Modi Government should explain why failed to take effective action to check Pakistan, which is very unfortunate.

He expressed deep sympathies of party with the families of martyred and injured and full solidarity with the Armed forces who are sacrificing their lives to defeat the proxy war of Pakistan. ” We are proud of our brave forces and soldiers, who are always ready and capable enough to defeat the designs of enemy and to carry out any assignment and duty towards of the country but our forces are disciplined to follow the orders of the duly elected Government in the democratic system on the issue of PoJK,” Bhalla said.Former Minister was addressing party workers in Kunjwani area of Gandhi Nagar constituency. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Satish Sharma (Ex-Chairman JMC and Block President),Dwarka Choudhary (Corporator ),Pritam Singh (Corporator -55),Dr Vijay Sharma ( Vice president DCC),Shamsher Singh ( Ex Sarpanch),Ashwani Choudhary( Gen Sec JKPYC),Happy Randawa ( AYC president), Sanjay Bhagat, Balbir Singh,Onkar Singh Jamwal ( Ward President-55),Gyan Chand, KD Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Neeraj Kumar beside others.

Bhalla alleged that Central Govt has left border people of Poonch- Rajouri on the mercy of God as they are facing Pak shelling every day.Bhalla lashed out at BJP for “abandoning people living along the International Border and LoC in the Jammu region and alleged that the hapless border people have been left on the mercy of God amidst heavy Pak shelling. He accused the Modi Government of failing to put an end to the ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the IB/LOC in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the lives of people living in border areas have become miserable. He said the persistent ceasefire violations have made the life of people living in border areas miserable and they are forced to lead a life marked by fear, uncertainty and mental stress. Alleging that the NDA Government remained insensitive towards the plight and trauma of the people, he said, “How long people of the Jammu and Kashmir and the country will be fed with rhetoric’s and hollow promises as the ceasefire violations go on unabated?”Bhalla  said the time has come to act and silence the Pakistani guns as the residents of border areas   have suffered unimaginable loss to lives, property, livestock, crops, due to unprovoked Pakistani firing and shelling. He demanded accessible and advanced health care facilities including a blood bank and digital X-ray. Bhalla demanded helicopter services for border residents of Poonch saying that in absence of specialized medical services, several Pak firing injured victims breathe their last mid way when they are referred to GMC Jammu in absence of air service. He also demanded constitution of a Border Areas Development Authority (BADA) to cater the need of developmental activities in border areas.

Bhalla accused BJP government of creating controversies to serve its vested interests and divert the people’s attention from its alleged misrule. “The uncertainty in the J&K is created by the BJP government which is responsible for creating social and political uncertainty. They can go to any extent to remain in power,” he said. Alleging that there was a “complete uncertainty” at all levels, including social and political, he said the BJP dispensation creating social and political uncertainty to serve their vested interest. Describing the Congress as the only secular force in the country, Bhalla said that Congress has always strengthened the secularism and it will continue to safeguard the secular fabric of the Country. He claimed that the Congress party will defeat the designs of forces creating an atmosphere of discord will not allow them to play with the emotions of people for political gains.

Stating that  the ruling BJP dispensation  is responsible for the uncertainty and anguish among the people in J&K, Bhalla said that the coalition partners  have failed to create atmosphere of  peace in J&K, as a result, country and               J&K is passing though very crucial phase leading to the deep alienation among people. He said the people are subjected to mental torture by J&K Govt in order to hide its failures, for the fact, BJP has miserably failed to deliver. The misrule and mismanagement on their part has added woes to the people, there seems no end to uncertainty prevailing in J&K. A government’s job is to maintain peace and harmony, deliver governance and protect the Constitution. But the BJP government has declared a war on its own people. It has become the creator of violence and divisiveness. The government has pushed the country into an abyss of hatred and made the futures of youth uncertain,” he said

He said all the promises made to the people by BJP after securing votes from them on sensitive issues, have fallen flat. People have realized that they have been misled very badly by BJP.  Unemployment has risen considerably, developmental process started by the UPA- I & UPA- II has come to standstill, lack of policy on the part of BJP Govt has disturbed the socio- political scenario of J&K. The people could not see through their tactical game plan and gave BJP an unprecedented strength in Jammu. The BJP Government has lost the trust of the people, because of utter failure to fulfill their tall claims during and after elections and their opportunist and contradictory stand on every important issue in J&K. Inflation is at its peak, unemployment is on record high levels, economy is declining and educational institutions are in a mess, he alleged, adding that the Modi government is “busy spreading religious tension, creating chaos and fomenting violence to deflect attention from key issues”.
