Government committed for development and doubling farmers income: Jugal Kishore MP

Member Parliament Jammu-Poonch Constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma along with former Minister Sham Lal Choudhary and Ex Mla Ashwani Sharma & District Development Commissioner Sushma Chauhan today conducted an extensive tour of villages Baspur Bangla,Pandorian in R S Pura Sub division and distributed compensation among farmers for Paddy Crop Loss due to recent heavy rain & hailstorm in R.S Pura Suchetgarh and Bishnah Constituency.

He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner General Jammu Mohd Tasir Latifi, Sub Divisional Magistrates Ram Lal & Susay,Tehsildars,concerned officers and administrative staff.

It is pertinent to mention here that, the paddy crop has been lost by recent unseasonal heavy rainfall and windstorms. A total of crop over 5 lakh Kanal land has been damaged in district Jammu.

While speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore said that government is committed for development and doubling of farmers income. He informed that he along with DDC and other concerned officers conducted tour of R S Pura, Suchetgarh area to access the crop loss. During the tour it was observed that farmers were facing lots of problems due to their crop loss by unseasonal heavy rainfall. He said that it was not upto end but the matter has been taken to Divisional Commissioner and Lieutenant Governor and informed  to direct concerned officials to do early assessment and also taken upto Centre level for providing compensation to farmers.He said that fruitful efforts came in result  and with the interventions of District Administration Rs 675 per Kanal compensation would be given to farmers in district Jammu.Today invoices costing Rs 2 crores distributed among the farmers and money is directly credited to their accounts and he also said that more compensation to the rest holds would be provided soon.

On the occasion, the MP along with DDC and other officers distributed invoices among farmers. It was informed that the compensation amount would be credited directly into the accounts of beneficiary through Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT).

The DDC informed that field functionaries of Revenue and Agriculture Department are collecting data of crop loss and compensation would be given to each beneficiary. She further informed that Rs 675 per Kanal compensation would be given to each beneficiary.

District President BJP HS Pammy,Chairman Satpal Pappi,Ramesh Saini,BDC Chairmans & Mandal Presidents BJP along with Panches, Sarpanches and large number of farmers were present at the occasion.
